NP Opens
It's been a long time since I've been up here, likewise to training sessions; But I'd like to share with all of you what I saw on the fields yesterday. Ultimate - the intensity, the trust, the flow, the team, the game. It all clicks as one, to make up what's really the essence of Ultimate. You've gotta trust your team mates, and only then, will the disc move in one flow. But what's the disc without the team? Moving in one team, the whole spirit balls up into one huge intense strength, forming the game - Ultimate. So what did I see? On the fields, I saw trust. It's like how the trees trust the Earth for rain, or how the Earth trust the trees for oxygen. And it all goes in one smooth flow. Handlers put the disc, and deeps catch them - even when it is seemingly impossible. The thing that made it possible, presented for all: trust. Especially the one Wenjie hucked, and Gabriel caught. Epic trust scene. The team? I've been away from trainings for so long, but I sure can tell how much each and everyone of you has improved, as individuals, and as team players. And only you know yourself how important that is - self, and team; because it shows, it shows. Especially on the fields. Even if you're just cutting - you don't get the disc at all? That doesn't count as no effort, because it is - in itself - a job well done. Perhaps you might not see it that way, but did you consider it as creating an opportunity for your team? For as important the end is, the process is too. Everywhere else I looked yesterday, it was Ultimate, Ultimate, and only Ultimate. The purest essence, from the seeded matches to pickups in between. Good job, NPU. You guys have grown, intensively. Keep up the good work, alright? Celebrate what is right with everything, not dwell on what is wrong. Because only when you celebrate what is right, you find the energy to correct what is wrong. Lets go, NPU. See you all on the fields. posted by NPU at

(things I planned to say but didn't because people had difficulty listening to my soft voice. "cannot hear, cannot hear") Bob Junhoa WenJie - Good handling guys. I saw lots of swings and hucks, plus I don't really recall any of you dropping disks near the end zone. Keep it up, don't be handicapped with just back hand or forehand hucks though. Good job for today guys! MingHui - You've got alot of potential in your throws, but you a bit blur lah. Solve it with chicken essence perhaps? One bottle a day. haha Nice sky today. Yuxuan - You're a giant. Who has the assets but don't really know howta use them. Like a human in a Gundam Suit who can't control it. Touch up on your motto skills, try to imitate Desmond and you should be a star player soon. Jieson- Don't have you, I is no chance score. Good cuts, if not for your cuts, no one else could bring up to me. Great with speed and stamina, keep it up. Control your temper though, just yell foul next time, no need to get agitated. :) Angella- Good cutting efforts, improving alot, but you never huck to end zone. Start seeing far, and let your throws flow. Don't think too much about dropping. Think more on getting it there. Keep it up! Chrysan & Chuyi - Improvements in cuts, but not enough. Walling was better, but too slow for this competition. Potential is there. Learn to move fast and you'll both be an asset. Both of you have the potential. Don't give up now. Gabriel - Bad throws, bad cuts, you need more stamina, and be firm with your grips when you grab the disks. Learn to read properly, and start learning to jump above people's heads. Just wanna add on to Hechen, NPU, don't be disappointed about not getting medals. At least we all have had a taste of what the "outside world" is like today. What we saw is not what we cannot be, but what we could be, or even better. I hope this motivates all of you. Strive to be better, and never give up! I have shin splint, but do you see me giving up? NO. Keep going people, we can do it. posted by NPU at
